Seahaven FM is looking for the following part-time volunteer staff.  As all posts are part-time there may be more than one post for any given position.  So if you can offer the right skills for a few hours each week this could be the opportunity for you to put something really valuable in to the community and enable you to meet the interesting people of Eastbourne, Lewes, Newhaven, Peacehaven, Polegate, Pevensey and Seaford.


Travel Reporting Team
Seahaven FM is looking for people to help with preparing travel information, during the summer we are going to partner with a major online travel news service. This will involve drivers directly with the online app and enable us to bring more detailed road travel bulletins. The busy time for this will be in the late afternoons from about 3pm until after the busy period at around 6/7pm. News Team
Seahaven FM always looking people to help to bring local news to our listeners. So, if you have an interest in the local community and would like to become part of our team this could be for you. The roles will include writing, researching and some presenting the news on-air. You may have experience as a journalist, or you may be trying to start or further your career as a journalist, or you may just have a lot of local knowledge and would like to learn how to get it on the radio. Website Editors
The role of the editors is initially to take broadcast news items and edit them so they are suitable for the web. Although this is not necessarily a broadcasting role the opportunity to write and broadcast your own work is there too. An understanding of the law and Journalism ethics and standards is important with particular attention to broadcast media, but training will be given. The work can be done at the station's offices or off site from home or other place. Excellent written English is essential. If this is for you, get in touch (please use the form below).


Trainee/New Presenters
Seahaven FM is looking for on air talent and new personalities to make friends with our listeners. The most important attributes are, reliability, an interest in our community, you must be computer literate and have clear speaking voice with a passion to communicate. Full training of the equipment and broadcast style will be given as part of the induction. No broadcasting experience is necessary, but it may fast-track your progress if you have. Programme Assistants
We are looking for research and production assistants for a number of shows. You will be helping to keep listeners up to date with local events, travel and local news. You must be computer literate with good written skills and if you want to be on air, which isn't mandatory, a good clear speaking voice is important. Administrative
A variety of roles helping with the day-to-day running of the station's admin. You must be computer literate, with good literacy skills. The role will include answering the telephone, greeting visitors, updating some of our websites and occasional help with the on-air production team.
There are flexible shifts during the weekdays and weekends
